The Spantec™ Boxspan® steel floor frame system supplied by Coral Steel Frames is a very cost-effective, fully engineered flooring system, custom designed and manufactured for your project. The system is suitable for use in all floor framing applications – low-set and high-set, residential and commercial.
The Boxspan® floor system comprises a sub-frame of galvanised steel boxed ‘c’ section bearers, with galvanised steel boxed ‘c’ section joists, generally at 450mm centres. An adjustable steel pier system is available, making a complete sub-floor package. This system provides a strong, flat, accurate, stable flooring platform that is compatible with all internal and external flooring products – plywood, particleboard, t&g, fibre cement flooring, and timber decking.
Being manufactured from zinc-coated light steel sections, the Boxspan® floor system is not subject to shrinkage, twisting, warping, or corrosion, even with prolonged exposure to the elements during construction. The system is also termite resistant, and when used in conjunction with steel wall and roof frames, can significantly reduce the cost of termite protection, subject to local authority provisions.
Boxspan® floors are easy to install
Boxspan® floors are supplied with all bearers and joists cut to length, marked and packed complete with the necessary fixing brackets and screws. Documentation includes comprehensive working drawings, engineering details and certification (when specified). The complete floor frame package makes it a straightforward build for contractors and owner-builders alike.
